Meet Our Staff

Gary Uftring has been a fixture to central Illinois car buyers for many years, including before the acquisition of his first dealership in Washington. Mr. Uftring began his automotive career on the wash rack at a small dealership in Minonk, Illinois. Armed with the determination to succeed and the desire to become a top salesman, he took advantage of opportunities as a “fill in” sales consultant when the store was short staffed. When he turned 18, the owner of the dealership agreed to let him sell cars full time. Because he was so young, Mr. Uftring focused on exceptional product knowledge and a passion for cars – two traits that serve him well to this day. Over the years, Mr. Uftring has developed an/or acquired multiple dealerships in central Illinois. However, his focus has always remained on great customer service and a commitment to giving back to the community.

I’m originally from Pekin, IL, and currently live in Mapleton. My lovely wife, Dani, and I have one son, Finley. When I’m not selling, I enjoy family time, golf, and both going to and watching movies. I’m a fan of any Chicago team besides the White Sox, and I try to catch a game up there at least once a year. Working at Uftring has been great because of my coworkers, the company as a whole and what they stand for, and the overall atmosphere I get to work in every day. I was in the Air Force for nearly seven years, and it’s nice to say I work for a company that offers a military discount. My favorite brand to sell is Jeep, so it’s nice to represent that here in Pekin. I love to sell because I feel I am giving back, and helping new customers begin a journey. I discovered the car business almost by accident right out of college! Not being “a car guy” I wasn’t sure how I was going to fit in, but I quickly found that my love of people and helping them accomplish their goals would take me further than I could’ve imagined – that was in 2012. Since then, I’ve had the chance to see how every department in the dealership operates and use those experiences to ensure that all our guests have the best possible experience with us! Being from East Peoria and now living in Marquette Heights, I take a lot of pride in helping my neighbors find the perfect vehicle for them and their family! When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend (Liz), her 14 year old son (Silas), and our 1 year old daughter (Iris). I am also an assistant boys basketball coach for the Peoria Heights Patriots (Regional Champs 2024!) and I always look forward to our “Turkey Tournament” to kick off each season.
